Denice was born in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Fine Arts and Architecture and a minor in Marketing. After years of working in Philadelphia, PA as a supervisor in marketing for a National Insurance Co,. she relocated to Coral Springs, FL where she met and married her husband Steve.
In 1995 they moved and firmly planted their roots in the beautiful mountains of Blowing Rock, NC where they own and operate a very successful construction company. Laurel Ridge Builders, Inc. has gained a solid reputation in quality craftsmanship of custom mountain homes, timber frame homes, renovations, additions, and beautifully crafted luxury homes in the tri-county area for the last 15 years. Denice has acquired invaluable experience in the field including home design, floor plan design, staging, interior design, knowledge of residential building codes, reading blue prints, and office administration. She would love to share her passion for real estate with you in helping you find your ultimate dream mountain home in the High Country.

Sandy is originally from a little town in Michigan, called North Branch. She attended Michigan State University (where she met her husband), graduating with a degree in Literature and Creative Writing. From there, she went on to graduate school (After 23 winters in the frozen north, it occurred to her that graduate school in the south of Florida sounded like a fine idea.) She graduated from the University of South Florida with advanced degrees in Linguistics and Instructional Technology. She taught English Literature, ESL and education courses at the college level for several years.
In 2001, her husband, Michael, was offered a teaching position at Appalachian State Univeristy in the Department of Biology.After their first visit to the high country, Sandy and Michael were hooked! They knew it would be the perfect area to move to and raise our kids. After 10 years in Blowing Rock, they've never regretted their decision. Blowing Rock has been a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family.
